Siri AI stays out of EU iPhones, French support due in October
Apple’s new assistant arrives in French in October 2026 outside the EU and China, with a European rollout expected around iOS 27.4.
iOS 27 is now available, but Siri AI is missing from iPhones in France and the rest of the European Union. Apple’s new assistant is the headline feature of its OS 27, yet in France it is limited to Macs and works only in English. iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch owners cannot use it while Apple and the EU work out compliance with the Digital Markets Act.
Apple has confirmed that Siri AI will support French from October 2026, but only in countries outside the EU and China. The company’s earlier rollout of Apple Intelligence offers a comparison: it reached the United States in the autumn under iOS 18, and the EU in the following spring with iOS 18.4. The same pattern points to a European release of Siri AI around March or April 2027, alongside iOS 27.4.
Until then, users can reach the feature through an App Store account from a country where it is live, such as the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Monaco, Canada or the United States. That requires a phone number not already tied to another Apple account, and switching the iPhone and Siri language to English (United States).
