Apple seeds first watchOS 27.2 beta to developers
The beta lands two days after the 27.0 updates and may be the first place Apple tests two Apple Intelligence features for the Apple Watch.
Apple has released the first beta of watchOS 27.2, two days after the 27.0 software updates went out. Registered developers can install it from the Settings app on the watch. The build arrives alongside the first betas of iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2 and macOS Golden Gate 27.2.
watchOS 27.2 could be where Apple begins testing two Apple Intelligence features headed to the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 in late 2026. Live Rewind lets a wearer double-press the Digital Crown to get a transcription of what was said in the last 15 seconds. Siri Recap turns the conversations held during the day into high-level notes.
For developers, the beta is the first chance to see how the watch handles the transcription and recap tools. The two features are slated for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 in late 2026.
