Galaxy S27 Ultra tipped for 50MP 5x telephoto and 16MP selfie camera
Leaks point to the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra carrying Samsung’s brighter M16 OLED panel, while the base models move to M14.

New reports describe what Samsung’s Galaxy S27 series may carry. According to Roland Quandt, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will keep a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and a Sony sensor, alongside a 50MP ultrawide. Its selfie camera is said to move to 16MP with autofocus, up from the 12MP unit on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The claim follows conflicting earlier rumours: one said the S27 Ultra would get a new 4x telephoto with a 1/1.9-inch sensor, another that it would reuse the S26 Ultra’s 5x telephoto.
Separately, industry sources say the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra will use Samsung’s next-generation M16 OLED panel, which promises higher brightness, better energy efficiency, a longer lifespan and more accurate colours. The standard Galaxy S27 and S27+ are said to step up to M14 OLED from the M13 panels in the Galaxy S26 and S26+.
The M16 panel is not debuting on the Galaxy S27 line: Samsung and iQOO confirmed it will appear in the iQOO 16. The S27 Ultra is also said to run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro in some markets, with the Exynos 2700 mentioned for others.
