Honor announces MagicOS 11, its Android 17 build with a liquid glass look
The new Honor system promises faster animations, a wider Yoyo assistant and file sharing with Apple, Oppo, vivo and Xiaomi devices.
Honor announced MagicOS 11, its take on Android 17, at its Global Developer Conference. The system brings an iOS-inspired liquid glass design built on Honor’s Luminous and Hummingbird base architectures, which are meant to optimise interface dynamics, AI processing and hardware performance.
Honor says system animations run up to 20 percent faster than on MagicOS 10. Icons, menu items and widgets have been reworked, and home screen icons and the dock can be tinted. The Yoyo assistant now covers more than 1,000 scenarios and connects to over 10,000 third-party AI services, in China at least, and Honor says it can carry out long tasks of up to 100 steps. Storage Space 2.0 compresses stored data without loss and frees up to 60GB.
MagicOS 11 also handles file sharing and connectivity with Apple ecosystem devices as well as hardware from Oppo, vivo and Xiaomi. It will make its debut on the upcoming Honor Magic9 series phones.
A public beta is open for more than 18 devices, among them the Magic8 series, Magic V6 and Honor 600 models. A separate internal beta covers the Magic6 series, Magic V3 and the Honor 400 and Honor 500 series, with a further wave of devices joining between October and November.
