MediaTek unveils Dimensity 9600 Pro, its first 2nm chipset
The new chip is MediaTek’s first built on a 2nm process and the first to use Arm’s next-generation CPU and GPU designs.
MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 9600 Pro, its first chipset built on a 2nm manufacturing process. According to the company, it is also the first chip to use Arm’s next-generation CPU and GPU designs.
Graphics are handled by a Mali-G2 Ultra NX GPU. On the processor side, MediaTek has reshuffled the core layout: the Dimensity 9600 Pro now carries two Ultra-class CPU cores, added at the expense of one smaller Pro core. The arrangement pairs two Arm C2-Ultra cores with three C2-Pro cores.
MediaTek presents the chip as a broad performance upgrade, with particular attention paid to AI compute. The announcement concerns the chipset itself, and no phone model was named alongside it.
