Microsoft has released an emergency update for the latest Windows 11 patch, after the September 2026 update caused problems on some machines. That update had added a set of features users had long requested, but it also introduced fresh bugs.

Reported issues include crashes on systems with AMD graphics, hang-ups in Explorer, and broken third-party integrations. Audio and Remote Desktop problems have also surfaced, and the new code has been linked to crashes on systems from AMD, HP and Lenovo.

The emergency update is meant to address that fallout. The reports do not say how many devices are affected, whether every issue is resolved, or when the fix will reach all users.
