Valve says a Steam Deck successor is still planned, with no date set
The company says it is working out how and when to build a new handheld, without giving a timeline.
Valve says a successor to the Steam Deck is still planned, but the company has not said when it will arrive. A Valve designer said the company is working out “how and when” it can deliver something like that, according to The Verge.
The statement comes as Valve completes its 2026 hardware line-up. The Steam Frame launched today, joining the Steam Controller and the Steam Machine. The Steam Deck itself has been available for four years.
A French outlet reports that the current memory supply situation does not change Valve’s intention to build a follow-up. Neither report gives a release date.
Valve has not announced a final name or specifications for the device.
